The graduate collection introduced the original concept for the design of MAYA WONG clothing, At the Art4d magazine award, Maya won the Jury’s Selection: Fashion Design Award for his presentation. The collection is inspired by the films “In the Mood for Love” and “2046”. It draws influence from the Western clothing styles worn in Hong Kong during the 1960s. These styles include garments such as High Collar Qipaos with modern graphics and Trench Coats. High quality hand-woven cotton is the main material used in each garment.
